SoCon announces cross country runners of the week
Furman’s Carson Williams and Chattanooga's Lesley Boyd announced as Runners of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C.- Furman’s Carson Williams and Chattanooga's Lesley Boyd have been named The Southern Conference men’s and women’s cross-country runners of the week, respectively, after all competition September 11-17.
Williams, a senior, placed first overall at the Furman Invitational, in Greenville, South Carolina with a 6K time of 17:52.2, a personal best in the event. The Raleigh, North Carolina product’s performance helped lead the Paladin men to a first-place team finish.
Boyd, a graduate student from Dayton, Tennessee, placed 10th out of 501 runners at the Southern Showcase hosted by Jacksonville State. Boyd’s 5K time of 17:02.25 led the Mocs to a 10th place finish.
Furman will return to action on Sept. 27 at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin. Chattanooga will travel to Louisville, Kentucky on October 5 to compete in the Live in Lou XC Classic.
