SoCon announces cross country runners of the week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Chattanooga’s Lesley Boyd and UNCG’s Colin Keck have been named The Southern Conference men’s and women’s cross-country runners of the week, respectively, after all competition Oct. 2-8.    

Chattanooga competed at the Live in the Lou Classic in Louisville, Kentucky, on Oct. 5. Boyd, a graduate student, ran a season best 17:01, finishing ninth overall in the gold race. Boyd collected her second runner of the week recognition of the year with this performance.  

UNCG traveled to Greenville, North Carolina, on Oct. 4 to compete in the Pirate Cross Country Invitational. Keck, a senior, finished with an 8k time of 24:59, placing 41st overall out of 176.  

The Mocs will return to action on Oct. 18,when they host the UTC Home Meet. The Spartan men will visit Charlottesville, Virginia for the Panorama Farms Invitational on Oct. 19.
