Southern Conference Announces TIAA-CREF Spring Academic All-Conference Teams
The 229 student-athletes averaged a 3.54 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have competed in at least one-half of their team’s competitions during the spring.
This is the third year that the Southern Conference has named an All-Academic Team by season. The All-Academic teams are made possible by a grant from the Southern Conference’s Education Partner, TIAA-CREF.
The men’s and women’s outdoor track and field squads combined for 79 student-athletes on the academic team with baseball adding 41. Furman had the most individuals selected with 34 honorees, followed by Appalachian State with 28 and Elong with 27.
