Jordan Trolinger named Associate Commissioner for External Operations

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference has named Jordan Trolinger its Associate Commissioner for External Operations, effective today.

Trolinger previously worked with the SoCon from 2012-2017. Trolinger will lead the SoCon’s corporate partnership, special event, marketing, and ticketing strategies. She will also serve as the sport oversight for various championships.

"I'm beyond excited to return to the Southern Conference office—coming back feels like coming home. My time in the corporate hospitality world taught me invaluable lessons in revenue generation, marketing strategy, ticketing, and event production,” Trolinger said. “Now, I’m eager to apply that knowledge and create memorable experiences for our student-athletes and fans, and work alongside our incredible corporate partners who make it all happen."

Trolinger brings in over 15 years of experience in marketing, digital strategy, creative design, branding, and event management. She spent the previous seven years working at OTO Development, where she was most recently their Corporate Director of Marketing & Digital Strategies. At OTO, Trolinger spearheaded the company’s artistic direction and E-Commerce strategies.

During her first stint with the SoCon, Trolinger began as the Multimedia Services Assistant before eventually becoming the league’s first Director of Creative Services. Prior to her departure, Trolinger had become the conference’s Assistant Commissioner for External Operations in her final year with the SoCon.

The native of Atlanta, Georgia, graduated from Samford in 2012 with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. Trolinger was a member of the Bulldogs’ women’s soccer team during her time in Birmingham.

“We are proud to welcome Jordan Trolinger back to the Southern Conference as an Associate Commissioner.  Her passion for the SoCon is deep-rooted from her time as a Samford student-athlete, and all our schools will benefit from her significant professional experience outside the SoCon,” SoCon Commissioner Michael Cross said. “She is attuned to the conference’s marketing, promotional and revenue generation opportunities, and will bring exceptional creativity, intellect, and work ethic to all that she does. She is the perfect leader for the execution of our neutral site championship strategies, and will build strong relationships with SoCon schools, fans and our corporate partners.”
