Wofford Baseball Takes Game One Against Mercer
After an hour-long rain delay, the Wofford baseball team jumped on Mercer early Friday night at Russell C. King Field and never looked back, winning 7-4 after holding firm against a late Bear push. Wofford improves to 26-21 (4-9 SoCon) as Mercer drops to 30-18 (9-7 SoCon). Wofford needed only two pitchers in the contest with Alec Bouchard (2-0) earning the win as the starter.
Bucs cruise past VMI, 9-2
The ETSU baseball team opened the month of May with a 9-2 victory on the road at VMI on Friday evening. Friday's victory boosts ETSU's overall record to 32-12 and 9-4 in SoCon play in 2025. Offensively, the Bucs totaled just seven hits in the win but worked 10 walks against VMI's pitching staff. Tristan Curless drove in two runs, scored two more and added a pair of hits on the day. Curless joined Blake Jacklin, Grant Gallagher and Axel Melendez as fellow Bucs that scored two runs against the Keydets.
Keydets open series with loss to Bucs
VMI Baseball was downed by East Tennessee State on Friday night at Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium. The Keydets (26-21, 5-11 SoCon) fell to the Buccaneers, 9-2, to begin the final home series. VMI has dropped its last six Southern Conference games.
Six Bulldogs Record Multi-Hit Game in 8-7 Victory Over UNCG
The Citadel recorded 17 hits, with six Bulldogs achieving multiple hits in an 8-7 victory over UNCG in the series opener. Aryan Patel led the way with four hits. The Citadel scored eight runs on 17 hits. Six Bulldogs had a multi-hit day, including Aryan Patel, who went 4-for-4 with a triple, a double, and two singles, marking the first four-hit game of Patel's career.
The Citadel Evades Baseball’s Five-Run Sixth, Prevails 8-7 with Late Run
The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team fell 8-7 to The Citadel Bulldogs while competing in The Southern Conference (SoCon) on Friday afternoon at UNCG Baseball Stadium. The Citadel opened the scoring with three runs on four hits in the first inning. Tobin drove in the final run of the rally when he blooped a single into shallow center to score Hausner, which made it 3-0.
