Bucs bounce back with a 12-7 win over Old Dominion
The ETSU baseball team returned to the win column on Wednesday with a 12-7 victory over Old Dominion at Thomas Stadium. ETSU improves to 19-5 this season with Wednesday's win over the Monarchs. ETSU's offense totaled 13 hits in Wednesday's win. It is the tenth time this season that the Bucs have had 13 or more hits in a game. Blake Jacklin led the charge going 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. Jamie Palmese, Cooper Torres and Axel Melendez all had two hits as well. Torres homered for the second straight game, which brings his home run total to 11 this season. Will Smoot smashed his second home run of the season as well in Wednesday's victory.
Mercer Uses Dalley’s Walk-Off Homer To Rattle Georgia State
Visiting Georgia State rallied for six runs on a trio of hits to take a 2-run lead in the top of the ninth, but Mercer answered with three hits of its own in the bottom of the frame, including a 2-out walk-off homer from Ty Dalley, to stymie the visiting Panthers, 7-6, on Tuesday evening at OrthoGeorgia Park. Dalley (2-for-5) registered his first multi-homer outing of the season (10th career) to lead the Bears (17-9) who also got multi-hit nights from four other players as well. Ely Brown walked and singled twice on a perfect 2-for-2 hitting line, while Titan Kamaka, Drew Johnson and Zack Thompson all finished with 2-for-4 nights at the plate.
Keydets start homestand with loss to Revs
VMI Baseball led late until George Washington flipped the script and stunned the Keydets at Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium on Wednesday night. The Keydets (16-9, 2-1 SoCon) allowed five runs to cross the plate in the seventh inning, putting the Revolutionaries out front without looking back for a 10-8 final.
