The 2010 Southern Conference Baseball Championship will take place Wednesday, May 26th through Sunday, May 30th in Charleston, SC. The Citadel will host the tournament at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. This will be the 27th Annual Southern Conference Baseball Championship.
The tournament will begin on Wednesday, May 26th at 9:00 a.m., and will conclude with the championship game on Sunday, May 30th at 2:00 p.m. (All times subject to change). The winner of the Baseball Championship receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Baseball Championship.
At last year's Championship in Greenville, SC, number two-seeded Georgia Southern defeated number one-seeded Elon 7-3. It was Georgia Southern's fourth overall conference championship, and the first since 2002. Both Elon and Georgia Southern earned bids into the 2009 NCAA Baseball Championship. This was the fifth time in the past six seasons that two teams have represented the SoCon in the baseball postseason.
