Wednesday's Baseball Roundup

Keydets rebound with 11-4 win on Wednesday
VMI Baseball capped off the nine-game homestand with a victory over Stonehill at Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium Wednesday afternoon. The Keydets (13-4) avenged yesterday's tough loss with an 11-4 triumph over the Skyhawks. With the win, VMI finishes the home stint 6-3 and has scored double-figures in all 13 wins this season.

The Citadel Bulldogs Fall in Midweek to Charleston Southern
Charleston Southern scored two runs in the first from a two-RBI single up the middle to go up 2-0. The Buccaneers scored three runs in the top of the second to increase their lead to 5-1. Charleston Southern added to their lead in the fourth inning with an RBI double down the line and an RBI single through the right side to make it 7-1. Charleston Southern scored five in the sixth and one in the eighth to end the game in the eighth inning at 13-3.

Mercer Bears Fall To Kennesaw State
The Mercer baseball team dropped their second close game in a row on Wednesday night, falling to Kennesaw State by a score of 5-3. Ty Dalley (1-for-4) homered for the fifth time this season, while Brant Baughcum (1-for-4) drove in two for the Bears. On the mound, Cade Cosper turned in another fine start, tossing a career-high 5 – 2/3 innings with one earned run. Daniel Powell (2-1) got the win for the Owls, while Jess Ackerman (1-1) took the loss for Mercer.
