Game 12 Quotes

2012 SOUTHERN CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT - GAME 12 QUOTES
No. 4 Samford vs. No. 8 Furman
Saturday, May 26, 2012
Fluor Field, Greenville, S.C.

Furman Head Coach Ron Smith:

"We made a couple of mistakes in one inning that led to four runs. And then Phillip Ervin hit a grand slam, and he may be the best player in our league. We competed pretty well. But they kept us off balance and we weren't able to come up with a big hit. You never like to get beat. We can deal with it because we came out and laid it out on the line. I don't think we had any bullets left after last night. We had a lot of things that went well for us last night, that just didn't go our way today."

"We have some seniors who had fine careers. They always represented us and Furman University in a very positive manner. We're proud of them."

Samford Head Coach Casey Dunn:

"They are a scary offensive club. It was big to take it from a five-run game to a nine-run game."

"It's nice to be back. Last year was one heck of a game. It was a 1-0 thriller. It couldn't have been a better game to watch. Tomorrow is going to be a good one. It's going be a great game to watch. Hopefully we will end up one run better this time."

"This has been our goal for a long time. We've been trying to get to the game tomorrow. Now we have a shot to win it."
