VMI Baseball scored eight unanswered runs to earn a walk-off win over Holy Cross Sunday at Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium. The Keydets move to 12-3 after rebounding back-to-back losses yesterday with a 16-15 victory over the Crusaders in the series finale. VMI is now 12-0 when scoring 10 or more runs against their opponents.
Wofford Baseball Loses Tight 2-1 Pitchers’ Duel at No. 23 Kentucky
The Wofford baseball team got on the board first Sunday afternoon at Kentucky Proud Park, but the No. 23 Kentucky Wildcats scraped across two runs later in the contest where runs were a premium. After the loss in a 2-1 pitchers' duel, the Terriers move to 12-4 on the season as the Wildcats improve to 12-2.
Western Carolina Baseball Drops Series Finale at Georgia State, 8-4
Looking for its second dramatic ninth-inning comeback of the week, Western Carolina baseball pushed across three runs in the top of Sunday's final frame of the series rubber match with Georgia State, but the seven-run deficit was too much to overcome as the Panthers claimed the game and series with the 8-4 victory at the GSU Baseball Complex.
UNCG Baseball Falls in Series Finale Against Radford
The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team was handed an 11-6 loss on Sunday by the Radford Highlanders in the rubber match of a three-game weekend series at UNCG Baseball Stadium. UNCG got on the board first in the opening stanza to take a 1-0 lead. After Jeremy Wolf led off with a triple into the corner in right, Trey Truitt chopped a single to second to score Wolf.
The Wildcats Best the Citadel Bulldogs; Dill Homers in Series Finale
The Citadel fell in the series finale, 10-7, against Northwestern, as the Wildcats scored ten runs on 15 hits to split the series at 2-2. Garrett Dill recorded his first home run of the season.
Samford Baseball Falls On Walk-Off Grand Slam In Game Three At UT Martin|
UT Martin's Arderrius Towsend hit a walk-off grand slam to left field with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Skyhawk baseball team to a 10-6 win over Samford in the final game of a three-game series Sunday afternoon at Skyhawk Field. With the loss, Samford fell to 8-8 on the season. Samford won the series over UT Martin, two games to one. UT Martin improved to 6-8 with the win.
