Sophomore Jamie Palmese slugged a pair of home runs to help power the ETSU baseball team to a 12-3 win over Appalachian State on Tuesday afternoon at Thomas Stadium. With Tuesday's victory, the Bucs have now won three games in a row and improve to 6-2 on the season. For Palmese it was not only his first career multi-home run game, but it also brought his 2025 home run total to four passing his freshman total of three. Lenny Montesano slugged his first home run in a Buccaneer uniform and added another base hit to join a group of five ETSU players that picked up two or more hits in the win.
The Citadel 4, Presbyterian 2
Strong pitching in the late innings allows The Citadel to take a 4-2 victory over Presbyterian College on Tuesday afternoon inside Joe Riley Park. The Citadel got on the board first from an RBI ground out from Garrett Dill, scoring Travis Elliott in the first inning. TJ Anderson led the Bulldogs with two hits and drove in a crucial run in the fourth.
Wofford 9, UNC Asheville 5
The Wofford baseball team felt some early pressure from UNC Asheville Tuesday evening at Russell C. King Field, but the Terriers plated four in the third and never looked back to claim a 9-5 win over the Bulldogs. Wofford improves to 7-1 on the season as Asheville drops to 3-5. The Terriers utilized five pitchers in the contest with Sheldon Egger earning the starting nod.
Mercer 14, Florida A&M 7
Mercer baseball head coach Craig Gibson reached a major milestone in his illustrious career on Tuesday night, recording his 700th win as Mercer took down Florida A&M by a score of 14-7 at OrthoGeorgia Park. The Mercer offense continued their tear on Tuesday to help Gibson secure the milestone victory and extend their winning streak to seven games, putting up 14 runs on 14 hits, including seven extra-base hits. Bradley Frye (4-for-5) remained red-hot at the plate, crushing a home run and a double in a four RBI game. Over his last four games, Frye is 13-for-20 with 10 RBI and has run his season batting average to .486.
No. 10 Virginia 6, VMI 4
VMI Baseball played nationally-ranked Virginia to the final out in a tight loss on Tuesday night at Davenport Field at Disharoon Park. The Keydets (7-1) were handed their first loss of 2025 after falling to the Cavaliers, 6-4. VMI started the season with seven straight wins, the best start since 2010, and posted double-digit runs in each of those contests, the most runs to start a season in program history.

The Samford University baseball team dropped a 15-8 decision at Auburn Tuesday evening at Plainsman Park. With the loss, Samford fell to 3-5 on the season. Auburn improved its record to 8-1 with the win. Samford was led in the loss by Cade Carr, going 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI. Jackson Harris went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Trey Higgins went 2-for-4 with a double. Hayden Perry drove in two runs, while Jake Souders drove in one run.
