Furman victorious in visit to Johnson Hagood, taking down The Citadel

After going down 10 at halftime, Furman fought back in the second half to complete the comeback against The Citadel by a final score of 17-16.

Trey Hedden led the way for Furman, throwing for 246 yards and two touchdowns in this one. The team's success was driven by quick, explosive plays. With only 22.2 game minutes of possession, the Paladins offense made the most of their limited opportunities.

Dervon Pesnell, Johnathan Bennett, and Corey Ibrahim were all contributors for The Citadel in the loss. The Bulldogs will be disappointed with their offensive performance. Their 257 total offensive yardage on the afternoon falls below their season standard thus far of 316.7 yards per game.


Western Carolina wins in faceoff with Wofford at E.J. Whitmire Stadium

Western Carolina prevailed in a tough battle against Wofford on Saturday afternoon, winning by a final score of 21-17.

Jalynn Williams starred in the ground game for Western Carolina, rushing for two touchdowns. Williams got help as well, particularly from Cole Gonzales and Corey Reddick Jr. The team clearly put a premium on ball security, as the Catamounts did not fumble the ball all game.

Pauly Seeley led the way for Wofford. Seeley leaned on receiver J.T. Smith, who recorded 68 yards on four receptions.


Samford victorious at home, takes down VMI

Samford outbattled VMI on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 27-3.

Quincy Crittendon led the way for Samford, throwing for 196 yards and three touchdowns in this one. The Bulldogs ran for 116 yards on the ground and threw for 196 yards through the air.

Hunter Rice had a big day for VMI, accumulating 58 yards on the ground. The Keydets struggled to take drives all the way to the endzone, with all of their points coming from field goals.
