Mercer’s Standley Named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer linebacker Ken Standley has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from Nov. 22 - 28.  The selection is made by the conference office.

Standley, a member of the all-conference first team, led the Bears with a season-high nine tackles, six solo, in the team’s 17-7 victory over Gardner-Webb in Mercer’s first ever FCS playoff appearance on Nov. 25. The Waycross, Georgia, native also turned in two tackles for loss and a pass break-up against the Runnin’ Bulldogs en route to becoming Mercer’s all-time leader in solo tackles with 136.

The redshirt junior is pursuing his Master of Business Administration and holds a 4.0 GPA.
