Mercer’s Robinson named SoCon Player of the Week
Senior averaged 22 points for the week
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer guard Ahmad Robinson has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all contests from Nov. 25-Dec. 1. The award is selected by the league office.
With the Bears competing in Fort Myers, Florida, in the Fort Myers Tip-Off, Robinson led the team to a 90-89 win in overtime over Jacksonville on Nov. 25, finishing with a season-high 25 points, four assists, one rebound and a block. The next day, the senior from West Orange, New Jersey, logged 19 points, six assists and five rebounds in a 75-72 setback against Miami (Ohio). Robinson had three steals in both games last week as well.
For the week, Robinson shot 15-for-27 (.556) from the field, including 5-for-9 (.556) from beyond the arc.
Mercer (3-4) hosts West Georgia on Wednesday before traveling to Stetson on Sunday.
