ETSU’s Peterson named SoCon Player of the Week
Senior averaged 25 points for the week
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU guard Quimari Peterson has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all contests from Nov. 18-24. The award is selected by the league office.
Peterson led the Buccaneers to two wins at home to capture the ETSU MTE title. On Nov. 22, the senior had 28 points, five rebounds, five assists and a steal in an 87-76 win against USC Upstate. Peterson went 11-for-18 from the field, including four 3-pointers, as the Bucs overcame a halftime deficit versus the Spartans. Two days later, the native of Gary, Indiana, logged 22 points, five rebounds and three assists as ETSU defeated Queens 82-67. Last week, Peterson was also named to the Lou Henson Award Early Season Watch List.
ETSU (4-2) travels to Charlotte on Wednesday at 2 p.m. before welcoming Austin Peay on Saturday at 4 p.m.
