Western Carolina defends home court, prevails over ETSU

Western Carolina snapped ETSU's three-game win streak on Wednesday evening, topping the Bucs, 76-67, at the Ramsey Center. The Catamounts went into halftime trailing 38-31 but outscored the Buccaneers by 16 points in the second half to come back and win.

Marcus Kell had 18 points and 17 rebounds to lead the way for Western Carolina.

Quimari Peterson led the way for ETSU, scoring 21 points.


House's season-high 26 points lead Furman in rout of Mercer

Furman claimed a commanding 96-72 victory over Mercer on Wednesday evening. The Paladins started by building up a 17-point halftime lead, and sealed the game by outscoring the Bears 44-37 over the final 20 minutes.

Tom House scored 26 points to lead the way for Furman. House was dangerous from three-point land, connecting on 6-of-9 attempts.

Ahmad Robinson led the charge for the Bears, tallying 17 points.


Atwell leads UNC Greensboro past VMI

UNC Greensboro recorded its third straight win in dominating fashion, handing VMI an 80-54 loss at First Horizon Coliseum on Wednesday evening. The Spartans started fast, accumulating a 29-point lead at halftime. They did not let up in the second half either, increasing their lead to as large as 37 points.

Donovan Atwell scored 17 points to lead the way for UNC Greensboro. Atwell was dangerous from three-point land, connecting on 5-of-13 attempts.

Augustinas Kiudulas scored 13 points, while Rickey Bradley added another 12 to lead the way for VMI.


Wofford takes down The Citadel in overtime

Wofford defeated The Citadel in a 74-71 overtime thriller at McAlister Field House on Wednesday evening. Wofford went into halftime with a 32-31 lead, but The Citadel fought back to tie things up at the end of regulation. The Bulldogs could not finish the job though, as they were outscored 8-5 in overtime.

Corey Tripp scored 20 points to lead the way for Wofford.

The offense was effective for the Bulldogs despite the loss. They scored their 71 points on 48% shooting from the field.


Chattanooga defense leads the way over Samford

The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team continued its winning ways and remained atop the Southern Conference standings after grinding to a convincing 82-68 road victory at Samford on Wednesday night inside the Pete Hanna Center. In a battle of the league's two top teams (along with UNCG), Chattanooga used a stifling attack on both sides of the floor from the opening tip to ultimately go wire-to-wire during the victory over Samford.

Chattanooga's Frank Champion nearly recorded the program's first triple double in over 13 years after finishing with 14 points, nine rebounds and eight assists while adding three steals and three blocks in 34 minutes of action. 

Josh Holloway led the charge for the Bulldogs on offense, tallying 18 points off the bench.
