Furman 68, South Carolina State 64

Furman rallied from a five-point deficit in the final 3:30 to down South Carolina State, 68-64, in non-conference men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

The victory improved the Paladins, who are off to their best start since a 12-0 run to begin the 2018-19 campaign, to 10-1 on the season. It marked the third straight game in which Furman claimed the win after trailing by at least five points in the second half.

Jacksonville 60, ETSU 52

The ETSU men's basketball team came up empty on its three-game road swing as the Buccaneers were dealt a disappointing 60-52 setback at Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon inside Swisher Gym.

The Bucs, who suffered losses to James Madison, Wichita State and Jacksonville during this trip, struggled offensively on Saturday. The Blue & Gold shot 34 perfect from the field (20-59) and went 4-of-14 at the free throw line (29%) in their final game of the SoCon/ASUN Challenge. ETSU was also out-rebounded by four, 33-29, while turning the ball over 14 times – resulting in 16 Jacksonville points. The Bucs managed to score 19 points off 19 Dolphin turnovers.

UNC Asheville 78, Western Carolina 61

Western Carolina men's basketball opened a busy three games in six days on the wrong end of a 78-61 decision to mountain rival UNC Asheville on Saturday afternoon from Kimmel Arena. Redshirt sophomore Marcus Kell tallied 11 points to lead the way as junior Vernon Collins had 10 for the Catamounts.
Kell was an efficient 4-of-6 from the field, making both his triples and a steal. Collins also had a strong day shooting, going 5-of-6 from the floor with three rebounds and a block. Freshman Fischer Brown added eight points connecting on a pair of triples.

North Florida 89, UNCG 77
