Notes

- Quimari Peterson is ETSU’s first player of the year since Desonta Bradford was honored by the coaches in the 2017-18 season. The last consensus player of the year for the Bucs was Zakee Wadood during the 2003-04 campaign.

- Peterson leads the SoCon in scoring (19.5 ppg) and steals (2.0 spg). He ranks in the top 15 in the NCAA in total points (603), field goals made (219) and 3-point percentage (43.1).

- Of the five first-team all-conference recipients, three were not all-conference players a season ago. ETSU’s Jaden Seymour and Chattanooga’s Honor Huff were third and second-team selections, respectively, in 2023-24. Peterson and Furman’s PJay Smith Jr. were not postseason selections last year, while UNCG’s Kenyon Giles played at Radford for two years prior to this season.

- Junior forward Karon Boyd is ETSU’s first defensive player of the year award recipient. Boyd, who was also voted to the all-defensive team, is ranked second in the conference in total rebounds (219) and fifth in total blocks (28), making him the only player in the league in the top five in both categories.

- Chattanooga’s Frank Champion, a second-team selection, is the second recipient of the SoCon Newcomer of the Year award. Champion averaged 12.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game in SoCon games. Samford’s Josh Holloway is the second recipient of the SoCon Sixth Man of the Year. Holloway came off the bench in 22 of his 31 games played this season, averaging 8.8 points and 2.3 assists per contest in conference games.

- Chattanooga’s Dan Earl was named the Anton Foy Coach of the Year for the second time in his career, with his first honor coming in the 2020-21 season when he coached VMI. Earl guided the Mocs to a 23-8 overall record and a 15-3 SoCon ledger, giving Chattanooga its first SoCon regular season crown in three seasons. The Mocs, who are on an 11-game winning streak, enter the Ingles SoCon Basketball Championship as the No. 1 seed.

- Between the all-conference teams and the all-defensive team, seven of the 10 squads had at least two representatives.
