The Citadel and VMI win big; UNCG gets a close victory

VMI 113, Virginia-Lynchburg 51

Looking to get back in the win column, the VMI basketball team accomplished the task at hand by taking down Virginia University of Lynchburg in dominant fashion, 113-51, Tuesday night at Cameron Hall.
The 62-point margin of victory is VMI's largest margin of victory since defeating Christendom by 76 points in a 96-20 win in Lexington in November of 2019.

James Madison 71, ETSU 61

Trailing by as many as 16 points in the second half, the ETSU men's basketball team pulled within three with just under six minutes remaining; however, the Buccaneers couldn't get over the hump as the Dukes held on for a 71-61 win on Tuesday night inside Atlantic Union Bank Center.
A trio of Bucs scored in double figures with Quimari Peterson posting a game-high 19 points, while Jaden Seymour added 18 points and John Buggs III pitched in with 15. Peterson also totaled eight rebounds and five assists.

The Citadel 94, Toccoa Falls 57

he Citadel basketball team utilized an 18-4 stretch in the latter stages of the first half to open up a 40-22 edge over Toccoa Falls College on its way to earning a 94-57 blowout victory on Tuesday night.
Brody Fox led the Bulldogs with 20 points while Colby McAllister netted a career-high 17 points thanks to five made 3-pointers, another career-high.

UNCG 72, High Point 68

The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team fought past Triad foe High Point to earn a 72-68 victory on Tuesday night in Fleming Gym.
With the win, the Spartans snapped the Panthers' three-game win streak. It marked UNCG's first win over High Point under Head Coach Mike Jones and first overall since Nov. 8, 2013, when the Spartans won 82-74.

Lipscomb 80, Chattanooga 62

The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team saw its five-game winning streak snapped in a tough 80-62 defeat to in-state foe Lipscomb inside McKenzie Arena on Tuesday night during non-conference action.
Chattanooga (5-4) struggled on the defensive end of the floor after allowing Lipscomb (5-4) to shoot a highly efficient 57.9% (33-of-57) from the field, the highest FG% allowed to a non-conference opponent at home since 2017 (60.4%, Georgia State). The Mocs also saw a 33-21 overall disadvantage on the glass which included just three offensive rebounds and zero second chance points.
