Three SoCon teams head to the NIT

The Paladins Are NIT Bound; Furman Travels To North Texas On Wednesday Night

The Furman men's basketball team has earned an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament and will travel to face the No. 2 seed North Texas Mean Green on Wednesday, March 19, in Denton, Texas, it was announced Sunday evening by the NIT Selection Committee. 
 
Wednesday's tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. EDT at UNT Coliseum and the first-round matchup will be streamed live on ESPN+. The winner will advance to face either Saint Louis or No. 3 seed Arkansas State on March 22 or 23 with third round action set for March 25-26. Butler University's Hinkle Fieldhouse will play host to the NIT semifinals on April 1 and the championship game on April 3.

Samford Basketball Continues Season in National Invitation Tournament

The Samford men's basketball program had their season extended as they were invited into the National Invitation Tournament tonight. The Bulldogs will travel to take on George Mason on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. The Bulldogs carry a 22-10 record into postseason play while the Patriots are 26-8 on the season.

Chattanooga Heads to Middle Tennessee for 2025 NIT First Round on Tuesday

After securing an automatic bid through its regular season success, the Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team will face in-state foe Middle Tennessee in the 2025 National Invitational Tournament (NIT) First Round as the committee solidified and announced the bracket selections Sunday evening.
 
Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday night inside the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro and will be televised on ESPN+. Chattanooga (24-9) and Middle Tennessee (22-11) meet in the Dayton Region of the bracket as the Flyers garnered top-seeding honors among the eight-team region.
