UNCG and Wofford reach the century mark; Mercer gets a strong road win

The Wofford men's basketball team (6-7) defeated the Kentucky Christian Knights (1-14) 100-55 at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Terriers have now won two-straight games as the team will open Southern Conference play against UNCG on January 1."It was really good to see guys be aggressive and make simple plays," said head coach Dwight Perry. "We have to continue to do what has worked well for us in the past. We want to be the harder, tougher, and the more together team. It was good to get back into the swing of things coming off Christmas break." Ahmad Robinson scored a game-high 21 points and finished one rebound shy of a triple-double as the Mercer Bears went on the road and defeated Georgia State, 71-68 Saturday afternoon from the GSU Convocation Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
Georgia State missed a potential game-tying three-pointer before the final buzzer as the Bears held on for the win. Mercer went 27-of-65 (42%) from the field and Georgia State went 28-for-70 (40%) from the field. Mercer made 10 three-pointers in the game with eight of them coming in the first half.The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team concluded its 2024 non-conference slate with a 105-50 victory against Virginia University of Lynchburg (VUL) on Saturday evening at Fleming Gymnasium.
This was the first game this season that the Spartans have scored 100 or more points and first game with 100 or more points since Feb. 28, 2024, when UNCG defeated VMI at home, 100-58.
