Junior Ivan Ninkovic climbed 10 spots on Monday into a tie with freshman teammate Chase Cline in 28th place to lead Western Carolina men's golf at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate, co-hosted by South Carolina and the College of Charleston at the par-72, 7,282-yard Bulls Bay Golf Club. Yannick Malik turned in a 2-under 70 for ETSU men's golf on Monday to highlight the second round of The Hootie at Bulls Bay.
Malik's round got off to an ordinary start with a 36 on the back nine, the only blemish a bogey on the par-3 14th, but after the turn onto the front nine, the junior's fortunes shifted with birdies on the second, fourth, fifth, and sixth to push him up the leaderboard. Malik gained 27 positions to finish the second round in 28th place, tied for the third-largest move of the day.
