Chattanooga’s Braidech named SoCon men’s golfer of the week

Grabbed his first career individual win at the Qubein Cup

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Camden Braidech has been selected as the Southern Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from Oct. 9-15. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Braidech captured his first individual tournament win at the Qubein Cup in Greensboro, North Carolina, which wrapped play on Tuesday. The sophomore posted rounds of 66-71-70 for a tournament score of 207 (-3). The native of Scottsdale, Arizona, was the only player that completed the event under par, a field which included five Power Five programs. Braidech finished second in the field in birdies (13), par-4 scoring (4.06) and par-5 scoring (4.33).

Chattanooga won the Qubein Cup in the 13-team, 84-golfer field, with an 18-over 858 performance. The Mocs shot 280 in the first round, 287 in the second round and 291 in the final round.

The Mocs will play their next tournament next semester in Hilton Head, South Carolina, at the Wexford Intercollegiate on Feb. 17-18.
