Mercer 4, Winthrop 0

The Mercer men's soccer team had their highest scoring output of the season, taking down Winthrop 4-0 at Betts Stadium on Tuesday night. The Bears came out of the gates hot, scoring twice in the first 20 minutes of play. In the 10th minute, Carlos Santamaria took a shot that caught the hand of a Winthrop defender, resulting in a penalty kick. Santamaria took the kick and slotted it into the bottom left corner to put the Bears on top.

Clemson 2, Wofford 1

The Wofford men's soccer team fought hard but eventually fell 2-1 to the No.2 Clemson Tigers on Tuesday night at Historic Riggs Field in Clemson, South Carolina. The Tigers got out of the gates fast in the first half, testing freshman goalkeeper Leo Ledin and the Wofford defense often. Clemson took ten shots in the first half while also having 53 percent of the possession. Out of those 10 shots taken, Leo Ledin made four saves, holding the top scoring offense in the nation in check. In the 42nd minute a penalty was issued to Wofford, which gave Clemson a penalty kick. Clemson would capitalize on the opportunity to make the score 1-0 heading into the second half.
