The ETSU men's soccer team used a strong second half to defeat VMI 2-0 in its Southern Conference opener on a sunny, warm Sunday afternoon at Summers-Taylor Stadium. After playing a scoreless opening 45 minutes, the Bucs got goals by Shewit Worton and Gabriel Ramos to begin their defense of a SoCon title with a victory.

VMI Men's Soccer had their four-game result streak end at the hands of East Tennessee State Sunday afternoon at Summer-Taylor Stadium. The Keydets (4-5-2, 0-1 SoCon) dropped their first Southern Conference match to the Buccaneers (2-5-3, 1-0 SoCon). VMI, who has either won or tied in its last four contests, will continue its conference stretch this weekend against Mercer at Patchin Field
