2009 Men's Soccer Championship

Semifinal/Final: Nov. 13 & 15 Host: #1 Seed - Wofford College

The 2009 Southern Conference Men's Soccer Championship will take place on Friday, Nov. 13^th  & Sunday, Nov. 15^th. This will be the 22^nd Annual Southern Conference Men's Soccer Championship. The participating teams in this year's championship will be the top four teams in the conference as determined by the Conference's current points system (3 points for a win / 1 point for a tie). The host will be the institution with the highest points at the end of the regular season that has lights.

The semifinal matches will take place on Friday, Nov. 13th at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The championship match will take place on Sunday, Nov. 15th at 1:00 p.m. (All times subject to change). The winner of the Men's Soccer Championship receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

At last year's Championship in Davidson, NC, seventh-seeded UNC Greensboro defeated fifth-seeded College of Charleston with a 2-1 win. This marked UNC Greensboro's third Conference title in the past four seasons. As the seventh-seeded team in 2008, UNC Greensboro was the lowest seed to ever win a Southern Conference Men's Soccer Championship - eventually leading to a sweet-sixteen appearance in the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament.
