The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team swept a Saturday doubleheader with a pair of 7-0 wins over Austin Peay and Coastal Alabama South CC inside the Strang-Voges Tennis Center at the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn. Chattanooga (4-5) has now won three-straight matches after Saturday's doubleheader sweep over Austin Peay (2-3) and Coastal Alabama CC – South, who did not see its record change with the match being an exhibition for the program.Samford Men’s Tennis Wins Eighth-Straight, 6-1 Over Presbyterian
The Samford men's tennis team earned its eighth-straight win with a 6-1 victory over Presbyterian Saturday at the Samford Tennis Center. With the win, Samford improved its season record to 8-2. Presbyterian fell to 3-5 with the loss. In doubles, Samford won at No. 1 and No. 2 to secure the first point of the match. In singles, Samford won on the first five courts to secure the 6-1 win.UNCG Men’s Tennis Edges Longwood, 4-3
The Spartans earned the first point when William Elmers and John Gabelic as well as Andrew Black and Devon Moskowitz earned 6-2 and 6-1 victories, respectively. Leading 4-3 in the third doubles match, Tymofiy Khrystyuk and Luke Thomson had the upperhand on Longwood's Maur Gonzalez Paiva and Timeo Puech before UNCG earned the point with the first two wins and it was left unfinished. The Georgia State Panthers swept all four singles matches Saturday afternoon to defeat the Furman Paladins, 4-1, in non-conference men's tennis action from Mickel Tennis Center. The Paladins fall to 2-3 on the season while the Panthers improve to 2-5 overall. Three of the four singles matches went three sets with Georgia State tying the match at 1-1 when Edward Tymes topped Matt Kandel in the No. 2 match, 6-4, 6-4.
