Wednesday's softball roundup

Tulsa 9, Western Carolina 7

Tulsa 8, Western Carolina 3

Big innings fueled by walks and Catamount defensive miscues allowed Tulsa to race out to sizeable leads in both ends of Wednesday nonconference doubleheader as Western Carolina dropped both games, rallying in a 9-7 defeat in game one before falling 8-3 in the nightcap at the Catamount Softball Complex as part of its season-long 13-game homestand.

UNCG 2, Radford 1

The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team extended its win streak to six games with a 2-1 walk-off win over non-conference foe Radford on Wednesday at the UNCG Softball Stadium.

Presbyterian 2, Wofford 1

Wofford softball (16-10) fell in the bottom of the seventh inning against Presbyterian College (17-13) at the PC Softball Complex on Wednesday, March 19. The Terrier bats were unable to capitalize on chances as they stranded 11 baserunners in the game.

Mercer 11, West Georgia 4

Visiting Mercer recorded 10 or more hits for the third time in the last five games and tacked up 4-spots in the first and third innings on the way to an 11-4 rout of West Georgia on Wednesday afternoon at UWG's University Softball Field.
