The 2010 Southern Conference Softball Championship will take place on Thursday May 13th Friday, May 14th. This will be the 17th Annual Southern Conference Softball Championship. The participating teams in this year’s championship will be the top four teams in conference winning percentage in softball. The host will be the institution with the highest conference winning percentage at the end of the regular season that has lights.
Games one through four will take place on Thursday, May 13th at 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The semifinal game will take place on Friday, May 14th at 11:00 a.m., and the championship game will follow at 1:30 p.m. with an “if necessary game” to follow 30 minutes after (All times subject to change). The winner of the Softball Championship receives the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA regional softball tournament.
At last year’s Championship in Chattanooga, TN, number one-seeded Chattanooga defeated fourth-seeded Georgia Southern 7-2, winning the their second-straight conference title and their 10th overall championship in program history.
