The Furman softball team went 1-1 against the Youngstown State Penguins and Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs Saturday on the final day of the Furman Round Robin at Pepsi Stadium.Laura Vigna hit a go-ahead RBI double with one out in the sixth inning to help support a dominant outing from right-hander Hannah Pitts, as Mercer knocked off 20-win North Florida, 5-1, to close out action at the Jacksonville U-hosted Spring Break Challenge on Saturday night.The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team fell in a 9-2 battle with Michigan before claiming a 4-1 victory over NC Central on Saturday at the UNCG Softball Stadium.The Samford softball team returned for day two at the North Alabama Tournament as they took on the hosts UNA and Lousiana-Monroe. The Bulldogs captured a thrilling and late 9-8 victory over the Lions before coming up just one short in a comeback attempt against the Warhawks 9-8. The Bulldogs move to 16-8 after the split today as their opening win handed UNA just their fourth loss of the season.

Chattanooga softball split a pair of games Saturday on the second day of the Make it Happen Games at the ROC Park in Madeira Beach, Fla. The loss to Siena in the opening game snapped the Mocs 14-game win streak, tied for fifth longest in program history. However, UTC got back into the win column with a 3-1 win over Central Michigan.Behind a pair of late-inning rallies, Western Carolina softball continued its winning ways on Saturday at the Eagle Classic, downing Norfolk State 8-5 before defeating Boston University 7-2 from the on-campus Eagle & Terry Field.
