UNCG 14, North Carolina Central 5

The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team earned a dominating 14-5 five-inning victory over North Carolina Central University (NCCU) on Thursday evening at Hunt Softball Park to open the 2025 season.
 
Two Spartans had multi-hit games, including freshman Macy Michael who went 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored and a game-best four RBI.

SC State 8, Furman 4

Taylor Ames-Alexander went 3-for-4 with a pair of triples and Destiny Calloway tossed a complete game to power South Carolina State to an 8-4 victory over Furman on opening night for both teams Thursday in the Paladin Invitational at Pepsi Stadium.
