Saturday's Women's Basketball Roundup

Furman 101, Bob Jones 47

Kate Johnson and Clare Coyle had double-doubles to lead the Furman women's basketball team to a 101-47 victory over the Bob Jones Bruins in women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at Hayes Gymnasium on the campus of North Greenville University. Johnson led seven Paladins in double figures with a game high 19 points and chipped in 11 rebounds. Coyle came off the bench to contribute 11 points and 11 rebounds. Raina McGowens poured in 11 points while Tate WaltersSydney RyanNiveya Henley, and Jaelyn Acker all had 10. Coyle also had five steals, and three different players finished with three assists.

ETSU 53, Tennessee Tech 48

East Tennessee State University women's basketball defeated Tennessee Tech 53-48 on Saturday to snap a two-game skid. Senior guard Braylyn Milton led the Bucs with 20 points on 4-for-8 shooting from behind the arc. Senior guard Courtney Moore added ten for ETSU. The Golden Eagles got out to a quick start with a 6-0 run over the first three minutes of the game. The Bucs offense warmed up, though, slowly chipping away behind seven first quarter points from Milton. The Charlotte, N.C., native hit a layup with eight seconds left in the quarter to give the Blue & Gold its first lead of the game at 15-14.
