Chattanooga’s Olafsdottir Named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

Senior pinnacle award winner holds a 3.83 GPA

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga women’s basketball guard Sigrun Olafsdottir has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from March 6-12.  The selection is made by the conference office.
Olafsdottir, who was named to the SoCon All-Defensive team last week, logged 20 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals as  the Mocs defeated Western Carolina, Mercer and UNCG to win their second consecutive SoCon tournament title. Against Western Carolina, the senior guard tallied 15 points, one away from her career high.
For her efforts on the week, as well as her performance in the classroom, the Hafnarfjörður, Iceland, native received the conference’s 2024 Pinnacle Award at the conclusion of the tournament for her 3.83 GPA in Sport, Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management.
