Furman's Ryu named socon women's golfer of the week
Scored a career low 66 during first round of Puerto Rico Classic

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Audrey Ryu has been selected as the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for the week of Jan. 29 – Feb. 4. This is Ryu’s third golfer of the week recognition this athletic year.
Ryu, a native of Dublin, Ohio, posted rounds of 66-74-75 for a tournament score of 215. The sophomore’s 66 was the career best for a round during her Paladin career as she posted six birdies and 12 pars on the first day of the tournament. Ryu completed the event tied for first in birdies with 13, which was punctuated by birdies on the final two holes of the tournament.
Competing against some of the top teams in the country, including second-ranked Arkansas, Ryu finished tied for 11th in the 100-player field, and helped lead the Paladins to a 14th-place finish in the 18-team field.
Furman will return to the green on March 2 to begin play at the MountainView Collegiate in Tucson, Arizona.
