Furman’s Marvin Named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

Senior won the women’s 800 at the Carolina Challenge, holds a 3.94 GPA

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman Track and Field athlete Megan Marvin has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from Jan. 17-23.  The selection is made by the conference office.

Marvin competed at the Carolina Challenge on Saturday where she won the women’s 800m by three seconds with a time of 2:09.63. The Chapel Hill, North Carolina, native is now first in the SoCon and 33rd nationally in the event.

The senior is pursuing a degree in Mathematics with a focus on Economics and holds a 3.94 GPA.
