Chattanooga’s Boarman named SoCon Wrestler of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Blake Boarman has been named the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for all competition from Feb. 6-13. The selection is made by the league office.
 
The sophomore from Evansville, Indiana, earned a pair of pins last week, including the first ranked pin in a dual this season by a Moc, marking the first since January 13, 2023. The two pins gave him the team lead in bonus points scored this season with 20.  

Boarman took 12 of a possible 12 points, with victories over against Presbyterian and App State grapplers. He earned his first dual pin of the season against Brayden Adams, putting an exclamation point on a 47-4 Chattanooga win over Presbyterian on Feb. 9. His second ranked win came two days later against 23rd-ranked Ethan Oakley from App State.
 
Chattanooga (10-4, 4-2 SoCon) will get back in action on Saturday (Feb. 17) at Campbell (11-3, 5-0).
