About the Championship

The 2010 Southern Conference Wrestling Championship will take place on Saturday, March 6th. Davidson College will host for the fourth time in Championship history – the last time being in 1988. This year will be the 73rd Annual Southern Conference Wrestling Championship.

The preliminary matches will begin Saturday, March 6th at 11:00 a.m. ET, with the finals taking place at 7:00 p.m. ET that evening. All 10 weight class champions receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

At last year’s Championship hosted by The Citadel in Charleston, SC, Chattanooga won its fifth-straight Southern Conference Wrestling Championship with 104 points, ahead of second-place UNC Greensboro, who finished with 73 points. The Southern Conference sent twelve wrestlers to the NCAA tournament in 2009 (ten automatic qualifiers, one primary qualifier and one at-large qualifier). The group included six wrestlers from Chattanooga, three from UNCG, and one each from Appalachian State, The Citadel, and VMI.
