Davidson's Peake named SoCon wrestler of the week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Davidson’s Tanner Peake has been selected as the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for the week of Jan. 29 – Feb. 4.
A native of Flemington, New Jersey, Peake went 5-0 during his return to the mat on Feb. 2 at the Newberry Open.
Peake scored 55 match points, which included two technical falls and a major decision win in the final.
The junior political science major improved to 16-4 on the season. In the 157-pound weight class, Peake is ranked 23rd among NCAA DI competitors in the most recent FloWrestling rankings.
With this selection, Peake becomes the first Davidson wrestler to be named SoCon Wrestler of the Week since Kyle Gorant in March 2022.
Davidson will continue its SoCon slate at home when the Wildcats face Chattanooga on Feb. 7.
