Gardner-Webb's T.K. Davis named SoCon Wrestler of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. –  Gardner-Webb's T.K. Davis has been selected as the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for the week of Dec. 11- 17.  

Davis, a native of Rockmart, Georgia, had a standout performance for the Runnin’ Bulldogs during the Kent State quad meet on Dec. 14.  

The redshirt freshman went 3-0 in the 133-pound weight class, including an 11-6 decision win over reigning Big Ten Champion and All-American Dylan Shawver of Rutgers, who was ranked No. 9 at the time of the match. 

Along with the decision victory over Shawver, Davis also defeated Michael Giugliano of Buffalo and Adan Benavidez of Kent State, both by technical fall.  

Davis is currently ranked sixth in the Southern Conference 133-weight class according to Flo Wrestling. 

Gardner-Webb travels to George Mason on Dec. 19 and Ohio on Dec. 22 for the teams’ final duals of 2024.
