Chattanooga’s Desiante named SoCon Wrestler of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Sergio Desiante has been named the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for all competition from Feb. 22-28. The selection is made by the league office.
 
The graduate student from Palmer, Alaska, earned a pair of wins last week, including an impressive 8-1 decision over No. 20 D.J. Washington of Indiana, last Friday (Feb. 23), for the second ranked victory of his career. Two days later, Desiante won a 9-6 decision over Bellarmine's Cole Nance in the Mocs’ regular-season finale.

Next up for Chattanooga (10-7, 4-4 SoCon) are the SoCon Championships on Saturday (March 9), which will be hosted by App State in Boone, North Carolina.
