Friday's Women's Tennis Roundup

Wake Forest 4, Furman 1

Wake Forest downed Furman, 4-1, Friday at Jim Leighton Courts in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Paladins won the top two doubles matches to score the opening point.  Seniors Ellie Schulson and Sara Snyder topped Krystal Blanch and Makayla Mills, 6-3, at flight one, and senior Jess Dawson and sophomore Macy Hitchcock beat 36th-ranked Nevena Carton and Kady Tannenbaum, 6-3, at number two

Lipscomb 7, Samford 0

The Samford women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at Lipscomb Friday afternoon. With the loss, Samford dropped its season record to 4-2. Lipscomb improved to 4-1 with the win. In doubles, Lipscomb won on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts to secure the first point of the match. At No. 3 doubles, Samford's Eleni Liakonis and Meredith Taylor defeated Sofiia Zhylchuk and Mariia Dolzhenko, 6-2.
