ETSU’s Alessandra Caceres named SoCon player of the week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s Alessandra Caceres has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played from Jan. 21-27, the conference announced on Tuesday.  The award is selected by the league office.
 
Caceres scored the first point for ETSU in a 4-3 loss at Virginia Tech on Sunday, Jan. 26. The sophomore from Calama, Chile, won her singles match against Arina Gamretkaia 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 3 singles position. In doubles, Caceres and Diana Rivera were up 5-4 over Semra Aksu and Tara Gorinsek before the doubles point was clinched by Virginia Tech.

ETSU (0-3) will travel to Appalachian State on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
