ETSU’s Daniela Rivera named SoCon player of the week
Senior led Bucs to wins over Wofford and Samford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s Daniela Rivera has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played from March 25-31, the conference announced on Tuesday. The award is selected by the league office.
Rivera went 2-0 in a 4-3 victory over Wofford on March 28. At the No. 1 doubles position, Rivera and Alessandra Caceres defeated Breda Brennan and Lily Woods, 7-5. At the No. 1 singles position, the senior defeated Brennan in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3, claiming ETSU’s second team point.
Against Samford on March 30, the Maturin, Venezuela, native defeated Emily Surcey at the No. 1 court, 6-4, 6-4. This is her second Player of the Week distinction this season, with the first coming on Feb. 18.
ETSU (9-7, 3-0), will host UNCG on Thursday, April 3, and Chattanooga on Saturday, April 5.
