Thursday's Women's Tennis Roundup

Mercer 5, UNCG 2
Jelena Gojkovic clinched the match for for the Mercer women's tennis team, who defeated UNCG, 5-2 Thursday morning from Greensboro, North Carolina. The win improves the Bears' to 2-1 in SoCon play. In doubles action, Gojkovic and Tea Zivic rolled to a quick 6-0 win over UNCG's Elisabeth Birkevold and Lauren Thomson. On court one, Marina de Diego Quinones and Ines Hömberg defeated Olivia Gallagher and Alexandra Dodashev of UNCG, 6-4 to clinch the doubles point for the Bears.

The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team fell in a 5-2 matchup with Mercer in The Southern Conference (SoCon) action on Thursday at the UNCG Tennis Courts. Mercer tallied the first point of the day after securing the doubles tally. Jelena Gojkovia and Tea Zivic defeated Elisabeth Birkevold and Lauren Thomson, 6-0, on court three before Marina Quinones and Ines Homberg secured a 6-4 win over Alexandra Dodashev and Olivia Gallagher on court one. Sydney Bly and Raegan Mitchell notched a 7-5 win over Emilia Cosatto and Dzhastina Mikhnova, 7-5, but Mercer was able to head into singles play on top, 1-0.

Wofford 4, North Carolina Central 0
The Wofford women's tennis team closed out the non-conference schedule with a 4-0 win over North Carolina Central on Thursday morning at the Cary Tennis Park. The Terriers won the doubles point and won three singles matches to clinch the match. The remaining three singles matches were unfinished. The Eagles won the doubles match at the #2 position. Wofford was able to claim the doubles point with a 6-3 win at the #1 position by Breda Brennan and Lily Woods, along with a 6-3 win by Chloe Elliott and Brianna Wilbur at the #3 position.

No. 27 FAU 4, ETSU 0
The ETSU women's tennis team concluded its trip to Florida with a 4-0 loss to No. 27 FAU on Thursday. Thursday's result moves ETSU's record to 7-7 on the 2025 season. The 27th-ranked Owls won two of the three doubles matches to clinch the first point of Thursday's contest. ETSU's top tandem of Daniela Rivera and Alessandra Caceres continued their stellar season with a 6-2 win over FAU's Malwina Rowinska and Lara Smejkal. Thursday's win moved their spring doubles record to 9-3.
