About the Championship The 2012 Southern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships was held Saturday, April 21st and Sunday, April 22nd in Cullowhee, N.C. and hosted by Western Carolina University at the Catamount Athletic Complex. This was be the 88th annual Outdoor Track and Field Championship for the men and the 26th annual for the women. The Appalachian State men and women took the titles. This was the third consecutive title for the Mountaineer men, while the women are now back-to-back champions. The men scored 238 points followed by Western Carolina with 225. The women tallied 207.5 points, followed by Western Carolina with 149. | |||||
