About the Championship | |
The 2010 Southern Conference Volleyball Championship took place on Friday, November 19th and continued through Sunday, November 21st at the Holmes Convocation Center in Boone, N.C. This was be the 28th Annual Southern Conference Volleyball Championship. The quarterfinal matches took place on Friday, November 19th beginning at 10 a.m. (#2 North vs. #3 South), match two at 12:30 p.m. (#1 South vs. #4 North), match three at 4:30 p.m. (#1 North vs. #4 South), and match four at 7:00 p.m. (#2 South vs. #3 North). The semifinal matches were held on Saturday, November 20th at 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The Southern Conference Women's Volleyball Championship concluded on Sunday, November 21st with the championship match at 2:00 p.m. The past two seasons of the SoCon Volleyball Championship have been fought out between the College of Charleston and Furman. In last season's rematch, College of Charleston swept Furman 3-0 to claim the 2009 Southern Conference Volleyball Championship. With the victory, the Cougars earned the Southern Conference's automatic bid for the NCAA Tournament and played Florida in the first round of the NCAA tournament. | |
