About the Championship

The 2015 Southern Conference Baseball Championship took place at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park in Charleston, S.C., from Tuesday, May 19, to Sunday, May 24. The Citadel served as the host of the 32nd annual Southern Conference Baseball Championship.

No. 1 seed Mercer downed No. 2 seed Samford 5-0 in the title game, winning the tournament in its first season in the league. Senior Eric Nyquist, who threw a six-hit shutout in the title game, went 2-0 at the tournament, allowing just one earned run in 14 innings pitched to earn Walt Nadzak Most Outstanding Player honors.
