2012 Wrestling Championship

The 2012 Southern Conference Wrestling Championship took place in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Saturday, March 3^rd. The event was hosted by UTC in McKenzie Arena. This year marked the 75^th annual Southern Conference Wrestling Championship. The 2012 championship saw seven teams compete as the conference added Campbell University, Gardner-Web University and Southern Illinois at Edwardsville prior to the 2011-2012 season (SIUE will compete in the 2013 championship).

In 2012, host Chattanooga earned their 26^th title with 102 points, while regular season champion, Appalachian State tied with The Citadel for second place, both amassing 72.5 points. UTC finished the tournament with four individual titlists and captured their seventh SoCon title in the past eight years. All ten weight class champions received an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, along with the second place finisher in the 197 pound weight class. Appalachian State's Kyle Blevins and Chattanooga's Levi Clemons earned an at-large invites.
