ETSU's Summers-Taylor Stadium will host the Southern Conference Men's Soccer Championship in 2018 for the second time ever and the first time since 2015. With the addition of Belmont as an associate member to the league this season, the tournament format has changed to include a first-round game on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the No. 6 seed. Quarterfinals will follow the weekend of Nov. 3-4 at campus sites before the semifinals and final take place in Johnson City, Tennessee, on Nov. 9 and 11.

In 2017, No. 4 seed Mercer upset top-seeded ETSU in the semifinals and topped No. 2 seed UNCG in the final to take its second consecutive Southern Conference Championship. Keeper Jeremy Booth, the tournament's most outstanding player, had a total of six shootout saves in the semifinals and final to lift the Bears to the 2017 crown.
